HS: State, region rankings, April 4
Tournaments took center stage this week -- as in state tournaments in Texas and holiday break events for spring-playing states. In each case, the results led to plenty of changes in the Texas winter rankings, as well as the spring rankings.
WINTER NEWS
District 6-6A continued its stellar girls soccer playoff showing, which included a win by Marcus (Flower Mound, Texas) over former SIMA FAB 50 No. 2 Southlake Carroll (Southlake, Texas). Klein (Texas) moves into the No., 1 spot for the week with its biggest challenges yet to come.
On the boys side, Coppell (Texas) and Wakeland (Frisco, Texas) swapped spots as Texas No. 1, powered by Coppell's shutout victory over a former Top 25 team.

SPRING NEWS
Dalton (Ga.) and Omaha South (Omaha, Neb.) were the big winners at the Smoky Mountain Cup for boys soccer, while Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) claimed the Palmetto Cup in South Carolina. All three teams reinforced their SIMA FAB 50 Top 10 placements with the wins, yet there was plenty of movement behind the elite. McCallie School (Chattanooga, Tenn.) made a strong showing at the Smoky Mountain Cup to move up this week.
In Virginia, a clash between the state's No. 1 and 2 teams -- Langley and [Washington-Lee va-m] -- ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving those teams 1-2 for yet another week.
