HS: Taft girls make big jump in Prep Top 10
Taft School (Conn.) knocked off last week's No. 9 and 10 teams and, coupled with other results last week, vaults to No. 5 in this week's Prep Top 10.
Taft and Worcester Academy (Mass.) are the only schools with both the boys and girls teamsin the Prep Top 10 this week.
Taft School's girls team posted 2-0 wins over Hotchkiss School (Conn.) and Kingswood-Oxford School (Conn.), last week's Nos. 9 and 10 teams. Taft is the No. 4 seed in the NEPSAC A tournament.
This week, thre NEPSAC A, B, C and D titles will be decided, along with the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament -- bringing to a close the fall prep school season.
The Prep Top 10 is comprised of schools in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council and the Mid-Atlantic Prep League, as well as other independent prep schools. Schools in these rankings are not eligible for the FAB 50 high school rankings because these programs either field post-grad players or compete in a league with or against teams with post-grad and/or fifth-year athletes.
