HS: Weekend wrap, region rankings, April 8
The boys soccer teams from Christian Brothers (Memphis Tenn.) and Jenks (Okla.) claimed tournament titles over the weekend to secure their state and regional No. 1 rankings.
Christian Brothers won the top flight at the Southern Coast Cup in Foley, Ala., and across the state, Jenks won the Southern Soccer Challenge.
The week also saw the end of a 40-match undefeated streak by Homewood (Ala.) boys and a rare instate loss by the Padua Academy (Wilmington, Del.) girls team.
Overall, two boys states and seven girls states welcome new No. 1 teams. The changes took place in Alabama and Washington for boys soccer and Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Wisconsin girls.
The Texas winter season is down to the final 16 teams, which will play down to the final four this week.
