HS: Winter SIMA FAB 50 rankings, Jan. 13
We're right back where we ended the 2014 winter high school season.
Last year's SIMA FAB 50 champions are both back at No. 1.
Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) has been a coast-to-coast No. 1 this year at 18-0. The team caps its season with the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament this Thursday-Saturday, which features five SIMA FAB 50 teams. Another MAST title will give Montverde Academy its fourth FAB 50 crown in five seasons.
On the girls side, last year's No. 1 Monte Vista (Danville, Calif.), which started the 2014-15 season at No. 2, is back at No. 1 following a loss by former top-ranked Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, Calif.) last week. The Mustangs, unlike Montverde Academy's boys, have a long way to go to defend its top billing. Monte Vista is barely at the midway point of its season.
There is plenty of turnover this week as results from season-opening tournaments in Texas helped reshaped the rankings.
