HS: Winter, Spring FAB 50, March 20
Barely a month into the season and the FAB 50 boys spring rankings has its third different No. 1 team.
Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) returns to the top of the FAB 50, right where it ended the 2017 campaign. The South Carolina power with 20 returning players, including eight starters, from last year's 26-0 squad has run its win streak to 36 matches. Over the past three seasons, Wando is 62-2. Settling in at No. 2 is McCallie School (Chattanooga, Tenn.), which is coming off a 3-0 showing at the Smoky Mountain Cup.
On the girls side, preseason No. 1 St. Charles North (St. Charles, Ill.) has gotten off to a 3-0 start, which includes a 3-0 win over former FAB 50-ranked Neuqua Valley (Naperville, Ill.).
There is no movement in the winter FAB 50s this week as almost the entire state of Texas was on spring break. In fact, only three FAB 50 teams played last week. Texas teams will be back in action this week, the final week of regular season play.
