HS: Winter, Spring FAB 50 rankings, Mar. 19
Results in the early part of the season can drastically change the ranking order.
Such was the case in the girls Spring FAB 50 this week.
Last week's top-ranked Barrington (Ill.) and No. 3 New Trier (Winnetka, Ill.) took ties last week, reshaping the Top 5.
Grandview (Aurora, Colo.) moves into the top spot this week, followed by Parkview (Lilburn, Va.), Rockwood Summit (Fenton, Mo.), Grand Blanc (Mich.) and James Madison (Vienna, Va.). Those teams a are combined 14-0 and perfection is still possible. Barrington, meanwhile, at 1-0-1, checks in at No. 6, and will move up once any of the Top 5 teams falter.
Overall, it was a strong week for Georgia boys as Dalton (Ga.), Westminster Schools (Atlanta, Ga.) and Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.) all posted wins over projected Tennessee state title contenders. The net result is five Georgia teams are ranked in the Top 20.
In the winter rankings, there was little movement as most Texas teams were on spring break.
Now, on with the rankings ...
