HS: Winter, Spring region rankings, Mar. 23
Walter Rule has been around soccer for a long time, but something happened last week that he's never experienced in his 25 years as a head coach.
The boys soccer team at Clark (San Antonio, Texas) completed a perfect regular season.
The top-ranked San Antonio squad in the SIMA FAB 50 (which will maintain its No. 7 national ranking Tuesday), capped a 20-0 regular season with a 4-0 win over [Taft tx-] (San Antonio, Texas). Now its on to the playoffs where Clark is in the same region with SIMA FAB 50 No. 2 Rivera (Brownsville, Texas). But both teams will need to survive several rounds of postseason play before that matchup could take place.
Rule coached [Reagan tx-m] (San Antonio, Texas) to an undefeated season and state title in 2002, where it finished No. 2 in the SIMA FAB 50. He's also coached girls soccer at Clark and has more than 300 career wins -- but a perfect regular season was something new.
