TopDrawerSoccer is pleased to unveil the Fall High School Best XI, highlighting the top players from the latest prep soccer seasons. Only athletes from states that wrapped up the high school season by December qualify for the list. The criteria used to evaluate the candidates considered several factors, including post-season honors, trophies won, individual accomplishments, impact on winning, and the difficulty level of the respective league and classification.
First Team Best XI
GK Harlow Berger, Mahtomedi (Minnesota) - Without a doubt, Berger was the most impressive goalkeeper of the fall high school slate. Even removing the state championship, where she made 14 saves in a 1-0 win, the St. Thomas(w) commit was on fire all season, conceding just one goal through five postseason games.
D Kolbi Kiblen, Moscow (Idaho) - Leading Moscow to the Idaho state championship as a center back and captain is impressive, especially since Kiblen was also named 5A Player of the Year. Her reliability and formidable play led the Bears to the school's first state championship.
D Rylan Windhorst, West Valley (Washington) - West Valley delivered one of the greatest defensive performances in American history, finishing as a 22-0 state champion while conceding ZERO goals. Windhorst, a sophomore center back, was named MVP, making her a guarantee for the TDS High School best XI.
D Kloe Abdalla, Faith Lutheran (Nevada) - After leading Faith Lutheran to the 5A title as state player of the year, Abdalla was a lock for the list. The Kansas commit was a lockdown defender who could also score when needed.
M Sloane May, Hamilton Southeastern (Indiana) - Shining as a dynamo leading her school to its first state title, May was one of the best players this fall. The Michigan commit scored 15 and assisted 17 to pace a near-perfect 22-0-1 campaign.
M Libby McLaughlin, Marist Catholic (Oregon) - Cementing her legacy as one of the best creators in high school history, McLaughlin led Marist to a second consecutive title while setting single-season (41) and career (98) Oregon assists records. Still a junior, the uncommitted midfielder could reach another level.
M Mia Stevens, Summit Country Day (Ohio) - Crowned as the best player in the talent-rich Ohio scene, Stevens had a standout season for Summit Country Day. The Ohio State commit saved her best for last, nearly doubling her career output from 38 goals before the season to 72 by the end, leading Summit Country Day to a third championship in four years.
M Alexa Lee, Rutgers Prep (New Jersey) - Many counted Rutgers Prep out after graduating the Gatorade National Player of the Year, yet the team repeated as New Jersey champions thanks to the leadership and playmaking Lee provided as senior captain. The Columbia commit recorded a career-best 10 goals and added 13 assists for the 21-0 Argonauts.
F Sophia Miera, St. Michael’s (New Mexico) - Bringing track speed to the grass, Miera was unstoppable in the New Mexico 3/1A scene, scoring 61 goals and recording 27 assists to pace an 18-5 state championship season. That was not from stat padding, as the senior either scored or assisted on all four goals the Horsemen managed between the quarterfinal and final.
F Meadow Mahlmeister, Billings Senior (Montana) - With heroics to end a 12-year championship drought, Mahlmeister showcased her elite talents this fall. Her crowning moment came with 140 seconds left in the state final, when the junior forward unleashed a long-range rocket to win the match and record her Montana Class AA-leading 34th goal of the year.
F Hannah Murphy, Monson (Massachusetts) - It may not have resulted in a state championship, but Murphy made history in her final season, breaking the Massachusetts state career record with 215 goals. Despite falling short in the final, the Sacred Heart commit gave her team a chance by recording both goals, including an overtime winner in the semifinal.
Second Team Best XI
GK Sophie Keener, Bearden (Tennessee)
D Jo Frischknecht, Jesuit (Oregon)
D Eva Christensen, Syracuse (Utah)
D Sarah Corb, Mount Hebron (Maryland)

M Makinli Reitsma, Sioux Falls Christian (South Dakota)
M Olivia McCuen, Pickerington North (Ohio)
F Maddyn Greenway, Providence Academy (Minnesota)
F Alexis Fragnito, Marcellus (New York)
F Mia Forney, Central Bucks East (Pennsylvania)
Third Team Best XI
GK Jordan Reigrod, Rutgers Prep (New Jersey)
D Charlotte Larochelle, Bow (New Hampshire)
D Hayden Young, El Dorado (New Mexico)
D Emerson Scott, Severna Park (Maryland)
M Jada Wilburn, Oak Hill (West Virginia)
M Reese Kingsbury, Champlain Valley Union (Vermont)
M Teigan Cunnane, Albertus Magnus (New York)
M Charlotte Keenan, Rye (New York)
F Georgia Stephenson, Bangor (Maine)
