Uncommitted Highlights: Gianna Merlo
With the NCAA ban on Division I recruiting events extended through the end of the year, there are going to be limited opportunities for players to compete in front of coaches.
TopDrawerSoccer will seek to feature highlights of players from around the country looking to latch on with a college soccer program. If you are interested in being featured, please check out the details on how to submit information and video to [email protected]. Several players featured over the past few months have gone on to commit to programs for this fall.
Today's featured player is Gianna Merlo, a native of Ohio. Merlo is a 2021 graduate that played soccer at Howland High School and for Tri-County Soccer Club in Youngstown. Typically a center back, Merlo is capable of playing across the back line and even as a defensive midfielder.
A two-sport athlete, Merlo also ran track at Howland for four years. She's interested in opportunities from Division I through III, and is interested in pursuing either a Biology major and Environmental Science minor on a pre-med track.
Check out her highlight reel below.
