Bend Premier Cup Offers Fantastic Experience
Bend, Oregon has a lot to offer visitors. Among those is the Oregon Rush Bend Premier Cup, a soccer tournament taking place in the beginning of August. The Bend Premier Cup is a team tournament for both men’s soccer teams and women’s soccer teams. The tournament will be hosting a large number of teams from different states and there is expected to be a very strong level of competition.
This will only be the 3rd Bend Premier Cup, and although it is a relatively new tournament it is developing rapidly. The tournament doubled in size between 2010 when it started and 2011. In last year’s Bend Premier Cup there were over 140 teams competing against each other. This year should be just as interesting. According to John O’Sullivan, the Tournament Director, there is even some interest from teams in Canada. And looking at the surrounding area, it is easy to see why so many teams are interested in the Bend Premier Cup.
“The great thing about the Bend Premier Cupis that it’s a great destination, O’Sullivan said. “You not only get high quality teams and competition, but there is also so much to do.”
O’Sullivan added that the attractions of the surrounding area are a large draw for many of those who choose to attend. Teams will come and turn the tournament trip into a team bonding experience. Parents will take their children and make the tournament into a vacation by extending their stay. The tournament website even offers a list of attractions and things to do, including river rafting and hiking.
“There is a reason that this is one of the fastest growing tournaments,” O’Sullivan said. “And that reason is that there is no better place to go for a soccer tournament than Bend, Oregon. Bend has 300 days of sunshine a year and the venue for the tournament offers a massive number of grass playing fields.”
The surrounding area, however, is not the only reason that this tournament has developed so quickly and become so attractive. The Bend Premier Cup also offers quality competition between a large number of teams. The competition will have several locations to accommodate the number of teams, each of which has multiple fields to play on. Overall, teams thinking about attending the Oregon Rush Bend Premier Cup can expect an environment that is both competitive and enjoyable.
The Bend Premier Cup will take place August 3-5,2012. The tournament will host both Gold and Silver level competitions for both boys and girls soccer teams that are ages U9 through U19.
