Bringing European Pro Soccer Academy to USA
This summer could be a life-changing one for a select group of US soccer players.
That’s because Ray Hall, who was Everton F.C. Academy Director for over 20 years, and his team of top pro academy coaches is coming to three special venues here in the US.
When the Ray Hall Experience makes its way to Clermont, Florida; Birmingham, Alabama, and New York this July, it will mean the start of unparalleled youth soccer training.
Players will not only experience the world-class coaching found at European pro clubs, but will also be measured against their equivalent European academy age group by Ray Hall himself.
Many graduates from the Everton Academy have become WORLD STARS, playing in the English Premiership and top European Leagues, with perhaps the most notable being WAYNE ROONEY. The most recent: Leon Osman and Jack Rodwell, who have just become full England internationals.
How often will a young local player get the opportunity to showcase their abilities to a team of professionals who KNOW WHAT IT TAKES to make the grade and be a top PRO?
Head coach Johneen Black, who presently coaches Chelsea’s top youth prospects in Ireland, explained the benefits of the event:
“Over the four days, players will realize their game awareness has improved and their game has moved to the next level as they develop a new outlook on how a pro should think, act and play.
The process will not only involve time on the training field but also time with Ray in the lecture theatre with unique footage of players such as Wayne Rooney from 6 to 16 years at Everton Academy – the standard will be set and players bench-marked. It won’t matter if they are above average or even excellent, 11 years or 16 years old, ALL WILL IMPROVE.
We will also look at, and coach aspects such as ‘playing in pockets’ (the Barcelona system) and each player will feel and act like a pro soccer player for four intense and immensely rewarding days – SO BRING YOUR BEST game.”
Players will have the added bonus of participating in the launch of Soccer Genius, a unique state-of-the-art, computer and laser-driven assessment package which will also benchmark every player on each of five technical disciplines: dribbling, passing and control, shooting accuracy, power and soccer-related speed tests.
Kyle Gruno (age 14), who plays for the US U14 National Team and is ranked No. 2 in his age group by TopDrawerSoccer.com, attended the Ray Hall Experience last summer and put it all in perspective.
“The Ray Hall Experience was the best soccer experience of my young soccer career,” he said. “If you want to improve the RHE is an experience you should not miss. You will leave a better player.”
Kyle will be going to Chelsea on trial in August, having already had two successful trials at Aston Villa and Liverpool during the season.
