One of the benefits of partaking in a summer soccer camp like the one offered at Maryland is the opportunity to play with one of the best college teams in the nation.  Having reached the NCAA semifinals last year, Maryland is consistently one of the top teams in collegiate soccer. When a young soccer player has the chance to train with this team and learn from its players and coaches, they will learn skills that will boost their game at their current level and prepare them for the next step ahead.

With a training regimen just like a real college team, you will experience college soccer in a way that simulates life as a student-athlete. The camp utilizes the entire Maryland coaching staff as well as many of the team’s current players who work hands on with campers and often partake in games.

Several college coaches of all levels will be in attendance, presenting a strong opportunity for youngsters to showcase their abilities and enhance their recruiting prospects. And on that note, the camp also includes a lecture session that increases a player’s knowledge about the recruiting process.

One such player who was discovered at a Maryland soccer camp was reigning Hermann Trophy Award winner Patrick Mullins.

"I greatly benefited by coming to camps because of my specific situation,” Mullins said. “I am from Louisiana, an area with limited college soccer options. I never had the mindset that if I was good enough schools would recruit me. My mindset was that I was going to seek out the program I wanted to be a part of and show them how I would add value to their team. I had to be proactive and put myself out there to be seen by coaches. One way I did that was by going to college camps. In the recruiting process, the best thing a recruit can do is be proactive."

The Maryland camps cater to a wide set of ages ranging from 8 to 18. Players of all stages and skill levels will get the same opportunity to grow their game! So register now, or learn more about Maryland’s soccer camps by visiting www.marylandsoccercamp.com/
