UCF boasts popular summer training camps
Athletes who play team sports such as soccer tend to need companions and/or coaches in order to train effectively. This is problematic during the summer when school is out. Serious athletes who are looking to train can only do so much on their own. For this reason, summer training camps are an appealing option.
Central Floridaoffers camps that are geared towards student athletes who are serious about training and improving as a player. And truly, there is no better place to do it.
UCF’s training camps have grown by nearly 40 percent each year, which speaks to their growing popularity as a training tool. Mauricio Ruiz, the UCF assistant coach, states that “players from all over the country as well as several internationals attend the camp.”
Talk to players who have attended and you’ll quickly learn that the camp is the experience of a lifetime. It provides an opportunity to interact with likeminded players and coaches while enhancing your game.
“We have campers and coaches that return every year because they enjoy the atmosphere and the conditions of the camp,” Ruiz said. “The UCF camp is an attractive option for soccer players due to the level of the staff we bring in every year, as well as our facilities. I challenge any other program in the country to match the practice facilities, evening games, dormitories, cafeteria, and video rooms that we are able to offer during the camp.”
Players who attend the UCF soccer camps will participate in a challenging but fun week of soccer instruction. The UCF soccer camps are tailored to soccer players of all skill levels, from the novice player to the seasoned athlete. Players will receive specialized attention from college coaches focused on helping players develop and improve as an athlete.
In addition, college training camps offer the unique benefit of allowing players to experience college life and showcase their talents to college coaches.
“We put the campers through much of what we would do with the UCF soccer team, so the players have a realistic experience and level of expectation of what a Division 1 athlete goes through on a daily basis,” Ruiz said.
Coaches from other top programs attend, offering instruction and helping players to understand the breadth of their college options.
UCF will be offering two men’s sessions, one running from July 8 - July 12, and the other running from July 26 – July 29. Both camps will be held on location. For more information regarding camp details or how to register, visit www.centralfloridasoccercamp.com
