2011 Boys Top 100 rankings released 10/19
October 19, 2009
In the third installment of our Top 100 Ranking lists, we’re bringing you the promising young boys class of 2011.
But for now, let’s focus a little on Andy Najar, who heads the list of 2011 boys. If you’ve never seen him play, you really should. If you have, you know exactly why we have him rated where we do.
Of DC United, Najar is electrifying the Development Academy with superb ability and an exciting style of play. He’s deadly inside the box and always a threat to score.
Following Najar atop the list are a group of strong and experienced defenders. (2) Alex Shinsky, (6) David Caban and (8) Michael Ambrose are all veteran patrollers of the backline who not surprisingly happen to be national team players.
Columbus Crew’s (4) William Trapp was recently in camp with the U.S. U18s and showed off crafty ball skills and a knack for making plays in tight spaces.
Also included in the top 10 is (3) Nicholas Palodichuk, (5) Boyd Okwuonu, (7) Johnny Agudelo, (9) TJ Van Slooten and (10) Ted Mullin.
Players are now judged solely within their graduating class against their peers. This change is explained in our new ratings criteria. Star ratings will be reevaluated annually based on performance and accomplishment each year.
Another change you will notice is that some players will initially have no star rating (ie. NR). This simply means that our scouts have not been able to accurately rate this player and when they do an appropriate rating will be awarded.
As always, we encourage your feedback! Email us at rankings@topdrawersoccer.com and inform us of players and teams that we should be paying attention to. We are inviting you to become part of the process to ensure our ratings and rankings are accurate. Please do not use this open dialogue for complaints, criticisms, or propaganda – but rather as a forum to make Players To Watch better than ever!
Without further ado, your 2011 Top 100 Boys!
