2014 Big 12 recruiting overview
When it comes to the national recruiting scene, the Big 12 isn’t thought of that often as a destination for top talent.

But to think that would be inaccurate, as the south and central United States has produced players that like staying closer to home, often opting for one of the Big 12 powers such as West Virginia, Oklahoma State or Texas Tech. All three of those programs have managed to attract top talent for this year’s recruiting crop.
Before jumping into a team-by-team look at verbal commitments in the Big 12, if you’re committed to one of the programs below or would like to submit your commitment to us, please email it to commit@topdrawersoccer.com.
Commitments: D Precious Akanyirige (Pleasanton Rage), D Delanie Davis (Dallas Sting), D Tatyanna Lewis (West Coast FC), D Kathryn Milberger (Slammers FC), M Jamie Yearout (Sporting Blue Valley)
Defensive reinforcements anyone? The Bears certainly strike that tone with their current list of commitments. Four out of the five listed are defenders, though that naturally doesn’t mean they’ll play there at the college level. Surprisingly. Delanie Davis is the only recruit from Texas, as the rest of the group hail from outside the Lone Star state.
Commitments: GK Lindsey Hendon (Colorado Rush), F Maribell Morales (Beach FC (CA)), GK Emily O'Grady (FC United (IL)), D Sasha Stinson (Lonestar SC), M Macy Vrabel (San Diego Surf)
After finishing tied for fourth in the conference last season, the Cyclones have players all over the field reporting their commitments to the program. The team will have just one goalkeeper on the roster in the fall, meaning that either Lindsey Hendon or Emily O'Grady could get a shot at the starting role, while Sasha Stinson can provide defensive depth.
