2014 Girls Regional Top 20 Rankings Re-Released
After a brief absence, the Players To Watch 2014 Girls Regional Top 20 Rankings have been re-released.
We took a little time to press observers in 16 regions around the country to find out who they really liked among 9th graders. If you think it’s too early to rank players at this age, think again, they are being watched by people who matter at this age group and even younger.
The 411: TopDrawerSoccer.com's Players To Watch rankings utilize national rankings out of a 16-region setup. Every Monday we will feature a national top 100 update for one of four rankings (2012and 2013 Boys and Girls), while Tuesday through Friday we will update one of these regions for each feature. This way every regional and national list is updated once per month.
For the uninitiated, our 16 regions are Southern California, Northern California & Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest (AK, WA, OR, ID), Rocky Mountains & Southwest (MT, WY, CC, NM, AZ, NV UT), Texas, Heartland (KS, MO, IA, NE and the Dakotas), Midwest (IL, WI and MN), Great Lakes (OH, MI, IN, KY), South (MS, LA, AK, AL, TN, OK), Florida, South Atlantic (SC, NC, GA), Mid-Atlantic (DE, VA, MD, WV), Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Northeast (MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME).
A national top 100 list for this age group will come out next February, after National Signing Day takes the focus off the 2012 graduating class. Players To Watch Regional Rankings and National Top 100 in 12 age groups are based on staff assimilation of data and feedback received from coaches and other observers around the country.
