BOCA RATON, Fla. – Brandi Chastain has fond memories of her time with the Olympic Development Program.
The former US Women’s National team stalwart now coaches the Region IV 2002 girls Olympic Development Program squad and said ODP still fills a need.
"When I played, it was the only program in town so all the players came through ODP and I think now there are a lot of options," said Chastain, following her team’s game Tuesday in the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional at Spanish River Athletic Park. "There are a lot of players out there who are quality players that get an opportunity to play against other quality players and can be seen in a quality environment.
