2018 Boys IMG Academy Top 150 update
The spring is upon us and TopDrawerSoccer is now updating the IMG Academy Top 150 for each class for the new season. The first update is for the boys class of 2018. U.S. U17 Men’s National Team forward Josh Sargent remains the No. 1 player in the new update. Sargent, the Sporting Kansas City target, has continued to impress with the youth national team and figures to be a key player during the CONCACAF Championship.
Atlanta United’s Andrew Carleton and FC Dallas’ Paxton Pomykal jump up the rankings in the latest update. Both now hold spots in the top four in the IMG Academy Top 150 for the boys class of 2018 spring 2017 update.
The new update also includes over a dozen new players added to the list. National League leading scorer Luke Kiley takes up the No. 77 spot in this update. Kiley’s been one of the bright spots of the National League over the past few seasons.
Along with a new spot in the rankings, over a dozen players also saw an increase in their star rating for the seasonal update for this class. The new star rating reflects the improved level of play of some individuals as well as recent recommendations from scouts or coaches.
The IMG Academy Top 150 Players is compiled with the help of club coaches and scouts across the country. The staff at TopDrawerSoccer takes into consideration input from all coaches in making the list. With hundreds of players recommended for the Top 150, there are a lot of players who miss out on the list, but are included in the regional rankings, which are released on Thursday.
