AFC Wimbledon Academy - Jamie Di Luzio

The AFC Wimbledon Academy operates as a Category 3 Academy under the Premier League’s EPPP rules. This means we have contracted players from U9s – U21s playing in an official games programme with other Category 3 professional clubs.
During the 2014 summer we accepted the nephew of a long-time supporter for the US to come in and train with our U15/16 squad. We were careful to point out that the standard maybe too high for Jamie and we’d let him have a couple of weeks so he could sample the standard. As it turned out Jamie stayed with us for the whole summer on invitation and extended his own stay so he could train and play more.
During this time, Jamie played in an excellent pre-season games schedule against the likes of Fulham FC, Crystal Palace FC & Tromso FC. Here is a story on our official website that we were keen to post with some words from Jamie himself:

His extended stay was purely due to his excellent attitude and ability during his time with us. As a full-back we found Jamie to be very dynamic and very willing in all aspects of his roles & responsibilities. Although not the tallest player, Jamie quickly adapted to the pace and demands of the game and was a very consistent performer in all games. His technical ability was sound and he rarely wasted possession. He supported the teams attacking play well and was diligent in all necessary defensive play.
We would be more than happy for Jamie to spend some more time training at our Academy and would keep a watchful eye on his development in the future.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you require any other information.
