Ben Stitz, the second-leading scorer for Baltimore Celtic’s US Youth Soccer National League Under-17 squad, verbally committed to Penn, his coach confirmed Wednesday.
Stitz also played for nationally ranked Archbishop Curley (Baltimore, Md.), which was the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association runner-up this past fall. Curley finished ranked No. 42 in the final SIMA FAB 50. Stitz had 10 goals and 10 assists.
With Baltimore Celtic, Stitz scored four goals as the team went 5-0-2 in National League play.
He is Penn’s sixth Class of 2018 commit, joining Brendan Hanrahan, Matthew Leigh, Isaac McGinnis, Fayez Merchant and David Philbin.
