After three days in windy conditions, the cream rose to the top at the ECNL Texas event in Fort Worth. A handful of players left town with a string of impressive performances in tow. This is TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Best XI for U15 and U16 players who shone brightly in Fort Worth.
GK Heather Martin, FC Dallas U16: There wasn’t a U16 defense better than FCD’s in Fort Worth, and Martin deserves praise for her role. The Midlothian High School keeper helped FCD shut out Vardar to kick off the event, and then the team got a 1-0 win over OP Ohio Premier before sliding past FC Bucks 2-0 to complete a trio of shutouts. Her back line deserves some credit as well, but Martin was the beating heart of the operation.
