The club soccer season continues to pick up pace as winter draws closer to an end.
MLS NEXT action in particular picked up the pace, while some of the regions of the country that play high school soccer wind down in the club game.
Here’s a rundown of some of the nominated and goal-scoring standouts from the weekend’s action in club soccer.

Boys
Bethesda SC 09 MLS NEXT – Bethesda topped D.C. United by a 2-1 score. Miller Heaven scored first for Bethesda. Jake Lwin’s corner led to an amazing header from Luca Pier for the eventual winner. Lwin also scored in Saturday’s 3-1 loss against New York Red Bulls.
Breakers FC 08 MLS NEXT – Edvin Salihic opened the scoring, and Jaime Ontiveros Jr scored twice late in a 3-0 win against Atletico Santa Rosa on Saturday.
Springfield YC 10 MLS NEXT – Jimmy Bonilla and Kwabena Minta scored a goal each as Springfield rallied for a 2-2 draw against D.C. United.
Dallas Hornets 08 MLS NEXT – Michael Garcia, Jayden Martinez, Brenden Davidson, Luke Cassar and Hector Orozco grabbed goals in a 5-1 win against AC River.
New York Red Bulls 09 MLS NEXT – Paul Sokoloff, Tafsir Diop and Deven Cadigan scored in a 3-1 win against Bethesda SC on Saturday.
Ballistic United 07/06 MLS NEXT – Luis Mata, Otis Ibsen and Joaney Maciel scored in a 3-1 win against Diablo Valley FC.
Barca Residency Academy 08 MLS NEXT – Stoppage-time goals from Nolan Tinsley and Santiago Avalos secured a late 2-1 win against SC Del Sol.
Strikers FC 07/06 MLS NEXT – Strikers scored 12 goals in two games over the weekend. Titus Alviso and Tommy Hernandez scored two goals each in a 7-0 win on Saturday against Las Vegas Sports Academy. Beckett Miller, Dylan Mair and Frank Aziz also scored. Ritvik Karra scored two times on Sunday, a 5-0 win against Albion SC Las Vegas. Zen Franco, Cael McElderry and Tommy Hernandez also found the back of the net.
Tampa Bay United 09 MLS NEXT – George Jackson scored twice and Schnyder Hive added another in a 3-1 win against a very talented Athletum FC Academy.
Sporting Athletic 07/06 MLS NEXT – Theo Redd scored the only goal of the game as Sporting Athletic Club defeated TSF Academy by a 1-0 score.
XF Academy 08 ECNL – XF Academy topped Eastside FC by a 5-0 score on Sunday. Goals were scored by Julian Perez, Alexander Sauerbrei, Bruno Perversi, Jonathan Licona and Ian Kim. Zachary Khorrami earned the shutout in goal. Harper Mikolasy, John Koutelieris, Sandro Amador, Trent Brown and Kim assisted on the goals.
Columbus Crew 10 MLS NEXT – A brace from Jaedyn Amankwaah helped lead the Crew to a 3-0 win against Cincinnati United Premier. Liam Perkins scored the third.
Philadelphia Union 07/06 MLS NEXT – Nehan Hasan scored twice while Jack Illig and Ronan Sullivan added goals in a 4-2 win over Real Futbol Academy.
FC Delco 09 MLS NEXT – Tewodros Alemayehu scored the winner in a 3-2 defeat of PDA. Ethan Delgado and Read Goodwin added goals as well.
Lanier Soccer Association 07/06 MLS NEXT – Liam Moore, Nathan Mebratu and Demarion McCray scored in a 3-2 win against Atlanta United.
Bethesda SC 08 MLS NEXT – Lucas White, Simon Wheaton-Schopp and Christian Borno scored in a 3-2 win over Beadling SC.
San Jose Earthquakes 07/06 MLS NEXT – A brace by Yujin Kikuchi secured a 2-0 win versus LA Galaxy.
New York Red Bulls 10 MLS NEXT – Eric Lodge scored a hat trick in a 3-0 defeat of Bethesda SC.
Charlotte FC 07/06 MLS NEXT – Goals by Adrian Mendoza, Rocket Ritarita, Nickolas Teixeira and Xavier Krause secured a 4-0 win against Southern Soccer Academy.
Total Futbol Academy 10 MLS NEXT – Dialessandro Sulin scored the winning goal as TFA beat LAFC 1-0.
FC Delco 08 MLS NEXT – Michael Capretto tied the game late as Delco shared the points with PDA in a 2-2 draw. Gabriel Arbuet also scored for Delco. Jefrey Gonzalez-Palaez and Patrick Kolano tallied for PDA.
De Anza Force 07/06 MLS NEXT – Abishek Tomar scored in a 1-0 win over Napa United.
LAFC 08 MLS NEXT – Two goals from Darian Rus, and tallies by Adrian Raygoza, Kengo Horike and Gavin Rios secured 5-0 victory versus FC Golden State.
LA Galaxy 09 MLS NEXT – Galaxy beat the Quakes by a 6-0 score on Saturday. Aaron Medina bagged a hat trick, while Victor Garcia scored twice. Daniel Ramirez scored the sixth goal.
Portland Timbers 07/06 MLS NEXT – Max Eisenberg scored a hat trick in a 4-1 win against Seattle Sounders. Eric Izoita scored the fourth for Portland.
Barca Residency Academy 09 MLS NEXT – Brody Williams bagged a brace, while Leo Mora, Jovani Anguiano and Omar Mendez scored in a 5-0 win versus SC Del Sol.
Oregon Premier FC 07/06 ECNL RL – Vala Saghafi scored in a 1-1 draw with FC Portland on Saturday. Saghafi scored again in Oregon Youth Soccer action, a 3-1 win over Westside Metros FC. Quentin Torbert and Westley Watts also scored.
Girls
Virginia Development Academy 07/06 ECNL – Audrey McKeen scored a hat trick in a 3-0 win at the VDA Showcase.
Bethesda 10 ECNL – Valentina Perrotta scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against VDA at the VDA Showcase.
La Roca FC 10 ECNL – Nya Piercy of La Roca FC scored both goals in a tough end to end game on Saturday, a 2-2 draw with Portland Thorns. The first came from a 40-yard free kick, followed up with a headed equalizer from a corner taken by Avery Walbruch. Macie Leavitt came alive on Sunday against Oregon Surf with two goals and an assist. Walbruch scored the other goal and had an assist in the 3-1 win to end the weekend with four points in a tough Northwest Conference.
