The Real Colorado U16 Girls are leaving the competition behind as they stand number one in the Rocky Mountain and Southwest region of TeamRank.
“The team has been together for a while,” Real Colorado Head Coach James Harris said. “They have a lot of perseverance and work very hard. They love to play and love to compete. It all makes them a great group of girls.”
Alex Anthony, Stella Norman, Candace Cephers, Mariel Adams, Kailey Norman, and Janine Beckie are the backbone of this Real Colorado squad that has helped it reach the success to date.
“They believed in what they could do, proof of that was going against the defending national champions with 12 players,” Harris said. “We are a little deeper this year and when a girl goes down, there is another player who steps up and performs.”
With the new season, Real Colorado hopes to be competitive in the ECNL and reach the national championships which take place this summer summer in Colorado.
“Last year was a little bit of shell shock because every team was good,” Harris said. “But ECNL is the best thing to happen to girls soccer. The competition is great and this is helping them become better players.”
For the rest of the Rocky Mountain and Southwest TeamRank, Sereno SC sits comfortably in first place in the U14 and U15 Girls rankings. While Colorado Rush leads the U17 and U18 lists.
As for the boys, Vegas Sports Academy is above of Rio Vista FC by one point in the U14 Boys rankings, while Arcadia Scottsdale United SC leads the U15 Boys table by a wide margin.
Neusport has a hold of the U16 Boys and Sereno SC is number one in both the U17 and U18 Boys table.
