Commitments: Rush to Stardom
Joshua Butler, Virginia Rush
Commitment: Verbal to Brown for the 2013 season.
Reason: “I chose Brown because I was extremely impressed with the team culture and with the academic quality of the school. I really enjoyed my visit and it solidified my interest in the school.”
Admittedly, Butler was a fish out of water when it came to the recruiting process. This past year was his first in the Development Academy and he surely made the most of it. Ranked No. 146 on the Top 150 list, he is a hard-working defender notable for his toughness and fitness.
Butler brings a competitive mentality from playing other sports and isn’t afraid to mix things up – something we can expect him to do next season in the Ivy League.
