In the run-up to National Signing Day, TopDrawerSoccer.com is offering up a conference-by-conference analysis of Division I signing classes.

Conference USA is a league where the strong feast and the weak hope to survive. The conference features some of the best in college soccer including recent College Cup participant New Mexico. The recruiting classes reflect the quality of the division with some talented players headed to Conference USA programs this fall.

A reminder that if you’re committed to one of the programs below or would like to submit your commitment to us, please email it to commit@topdrawersoccer.com.

Charlotte

Commitments: Johnny Nartowicz, Malcolm Stewart, Jared Kent, Paul (Banks) Fisher, Zhuvonte Wilson, Dean Rutherford

Four of the six players in the Charlotte class hail from North Carolina as the 49ers staff focused on pulling in the top local recruits for this year. Nartowicz, a midfielder from Florida, and Stewart, a talented defender from Georgia, are the anomalies from the pack. Rutherford brings the pedigree with him as a former member of the U.S. U17 Residency Program.

Florida International

Commitments: Stephen Megaloudis, Luca Giovine

There has been no indication that the verbal commitments from Kenny Arena’s tenure have decided to go elsewhere so FIU still looks to be bringing in a relatively strong class for 2014. Megaloudis is an attacking talent from CASL where he had nine goals last season for the club’s U16 side. Giovine is a forward from the Chicago Fire Academy.
