Dahlien Hat trick Leads U20s Past Jamaica
The U.S. U20 Women’s Team achieved another convincing win at the Concacaf tournament, this time against Jamaica. The highlight was a Madeline Dahlien hat-trick as the defense struggled to deal with her timing and finishing.
Dahlien’s first goal in the tenth minute ensured the team got off to another fast start as she timed her run well to arrive in front of the defender to convert an Onyeka Gamero cross. Gamero was a handful for the Jamaican defenders in the 54 minutes she played as she regularly beat defenders 1-on-1 and delivered dangerous balls. In fact, that same connection led to the second goal, this time with a header from Dahlien a minute into the second half. The U.S. had to wait that long for a second goal mostly due to the impressive play of Jamaican goalkeeper Liya Brooks, an incoming Washington State freshman.
Goal number three came from a well-struck Tessa Dellarose volley from outside the eighteen as she ran onto a cleared ball, a strike the UNC defender will remember for a long time.

UNC connections shined through once again for the final goal as an Ally Sentnor through ball to Dahlien was toe-poked just ahead of an onrushing defender. It was the kind of play showing why the two have also excelled as teammates on the collegiate level.
The U.S. will close out group play on Tuesday at 5 PM ET in a battle for first place against a challenging Canadian side.
