What else happened in the Development Academy last weekend?
West Conference:
RSL-AZ U16 has been perfect in conference play this year, and that continued over the weekend with wins over Arsenal and Real So Cal. The older RSL-AZ did not fare as well with only one point from the two games.
In Northern California, De Anza Force U18 claimed a pair of 1-0 victories over Crossfire Premier and Seattle Sounders to take over the top spot in the Northwest Division. Nicholas Lima continued his goal-scoring streak with the game-winner against Crossfire. He has now scored in three consecutive contests.
The Sounders U18 team dropped both road games over the weekend and now trails De Anza Force by two points in the division. The Sounders U16 team recorded a win in a 6-1 thrashing of Santa Cruz Breakers on Saturday, but lost the next day 0-3 to De Anza Force. The Sounders are still top of the division at that age with a three-point cushion.
California Development Academy U16 continues to enjoy the return of Dalton Pando to the club. Pando started the season with RSL-AZ, but rejoined his former local club to start 2012. Since his arrival, Pando has scored six goals in five games, including a hat trick against Crossfire on Thursday. CDA U18 did not enjoy the same success, as it dropped games to Crossfire and San Jose Earthquakes by the same score, 2-1.
