The Development Player League announced last week in a press released that it would be enhancing and restructuring its competition, adding a "Girls Academy League" consisting of former Girls DA clubs.

The league announced last week in a press release that "we have been inundated with requests from clubs to expand the DPL from all areas of the country," in the wake of the Girls DA closing.

Per the release, the organization is looking to maintain the level of the DA and offer a bit of wiggle room to clubs when it comes to the rules.

"By unifying DA clubs from conferences across the country we have found a way to maintain several of the defining standards of the Development Academy with flexibility in two key areas; permission for all players in the Girls Academy League to participate in High School Soccer and revising the substitution rules to encourage clubs to better utilize their player pools, especially when showcasing their players to college coaches."

The initial six conferences have been announced on the league's social media account. Check out an FAQ over there as well. A seventh, the Northwest Conference, was just announced on Monday, May 4.
