ECNL Preview: Slow start in March
U14
There are only six teams in action this weekend in the youngest age group of the ECNL. Pleasanton Rage hosts Santa Rosa United in the lone fixture between California teams. Both teams are in search of their first conference win of the season.
In Washington, Washington Premier and Crossfire Premier host FC Portland and Crossfire United respectively on Saturday. The hosts take on the opposite opponent on Sunday. Crossfire Premier sits in first place in the Northwest Conference at this point of the season.
U15
Richmond United’s potent attack returns to the fields this weekend with a game against Maryland United. Richmond is second place in the Chesapeake Division with a 7-1-4 record. The Virginia club has not lost a game since the ECNL opener against McLean Youth Soccer.
PDA returns to action for the first time in 2015 with games against FC Bucks and Penn Fusion SA over the weekend. PDA sits at 2-1 on the campaign and third in the Metro Division.
Minnesota Thunder Academy is playing a two-game series against FC Wisconsin Eclipse over the weekend. Both teams are looking to pick up points after a slow start to the season.
U16
The battle between Crossfire Premier and Crossfire United on Saturday is one of the best games to watch this weekend. Premier is first in the Northwest while United sits in second. United’s defense will be tested. Premier scored 13 goals last weekend.
Bethesda SC hosts Ohio Elite Soccer Academy in an important Mid-America Conference showdown. Bethesda is in first place in the division and sixth in the national standings.
Match Fit Academy hits the road for games against East Meadow Soccer Club and Albertson Fury this weekend. Match Fit sits in third in its division, but still has the majority of games to go.
U17
Santa Rosa United is trying to keep hold of the top spot in the California Division this weekend with a game against Pleasanton Rage. Santa Rosa is 3-0-1 in league play this season.
FC Portland has tough games this weekend with a trip up the coast to take on Washington Premier and Crossfire Premier. Corinne Togiai leads the way for FC Portland with five goals this season.
