Elite Academy League West Showcase Recap
The Elite Academy League has just completed over 150 games at the West Regional Showcase for the U13 and U14 teams inside the prestigious Elite Academy League. The weekend brought incredible clubs and teams together to compete in cross over matches that add to their quest to qualify for the playoffs and become the EA National Champion.
In addition to the cross conference matchups, players were heavily scouted by the EA Talent ID department. The facility had scouts from within MLS Academies as well as EA carefully watching individual players for identification to be part of the EA Talent ID teams that will travel to Barcelona, Spain to compete in the MIC International Tournament. Last year, EA Talent ID played Juventus and Barcelona giving these players an incredible opportunity to compete against some of the best in the world.
“The EA U13 & U14 West Regional Showcase in Tucson, Arizona had its top talent on display at this high level weekend event. The Talent ID staff was extremely impressed with the quality of performances from individuals and teams as players were able to express themselves in a competitive environment against teams across many regions. This is yet another example of the EA’s purpose to provide an Elite pathway for players and open up opportunities with new opportunities.”
Dave Carver, EA Talent ID Coordinator
“The EA talent as individuals and as teams continue to raise the bar and showcase what this league has done to improve the game and be the vehicle for Elite clubs and teams. With professional academy scouts in attendance it gives credibility to how hard the players, coaches, and clubs are working to play their part in driving our country to be a world soccer power! This was the first event of the 23/24 season and innovation with match operations and Talent ID were on display.”
Ryan Miller, EA Commissioner
"This past weekend the EA hosted the the west Regional Event for the U13 and U14 age groups and with the help of our new platform, Modular 11, I am pleased to announce that the EA had it first scouting event for our EA International Event at the West Regional Showcase! The event itself was a success, but more importantly, the scouting went exceptionally well and were able to identify some of the top talent in the EA from the west regional conferences. Modular 11 gave us the tools to identify players successfully along with the technological sophistication to compare players right on the spot. We are pleased with players that have been identified thus far and look forward to another successful scouting event at the East Regional Showcase in Florida in December." - Eddie Henderson, EA Talent ID Director
