FCD signs U17 MNT forward Bryan Reynolds
FC Dallas has signed its league-leading 17th Homegrown player, forward Bryan Reynolds, from the FC Dallas Academy for the 2017 season.
Reynolds, who just turned 15, becomes the youngest player ever to sign with FC Dallas ahead of Jesus Ferreira, who joined the club last week.
FC Dallas’ roster currently boasts nine Homegrown players, six of which hail from cities in Texas: Victor Ulloa (Wylie), Kellyn Acosta (Plano), Aaron Guillen (El Paso), Paxton Pomykal (Lewisville), Ferreira (McKinney) and Reynolds (Fort Worth).
Reynolds was part of the Under-16 FC Dallas Academy team that won the 2015-16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Championship. In last month’s Generation adidas Cup in Kansas City, Reynolds tallied five goals in three matches as the FC Dallas U-18 team went 3-0-0 with a goal differential of plus-13.
Last week, Reynolds scored one goal for the U.S. U-17 National Team in 38 minutes of action during a pair of friendlies against the Jamaican U-17 National Team. The U.S. U-17 National Team is now preparing for the 2016 Nike International Friendlies, which kick off on Nov. 30 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. The Nike Friendlies will both serve as further preparation for the 2017 U-17 World Cup qualifiers set to begin next April.
