At least on the youth national team front, 2016 was a mixed bag. The U17 and U20 Women’s National Teams both flamed out of their respective World Cups before reaching the final, casting some doubt onto the notion that the U.S. girls soccer development apparatus was still tops in the world.
This year, it’s the guys’ turn. And 2017 is shaping up to be one interesting year.
