The U.S. Under-20 WNT is currently in France, as preparations for the Under-20 World Cup ramps up.
This year’s tournament takes place from August 10-28 in Costa Rica, as the United States seeks a first international women’s youth crown since winning the 2012 U20 World Cup.
These are the final international matches prior to the August tournament, meaning the stakes are high for the fringe players seeking a spot on the roster. Previous editions of the World Cup had 21 player rosters, with three spots for goalkeepers. That leaves hardly any wiggle room to turn over the roster from qualifying, where the United States was dominant.
Here’s a look at five players that can make a statement in France.
