Weather made its mark on the Girls Academy League playoffs over the past few days. The U14-U17 teams head to St. Louis to wrap up the postseason play the first week of July.
On Monday, two champions were crowned. The U19 and U13 seasons wrapped up with a pair of champions.
TSJ FC Virginia entered the final after beating St. Louis Development Academy by a 4-0 score in the semifinals. Last year's runners-up Sockers FC beat Tophat by a 2-1, returning to the final.
The Chicagoland side's tough defense secured the crown with a 1-0 victory to win the oldest age group. Forward Viviana Pope finished the event with nine goals in five games to win the Golden Boot, while Sockers FC duo Olivia Chianelli and Allison Deardorff won the other awards.
Congratulations to all the incredible winners of our U19 Awards!
