Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week
Sometimes, all it takes is a clutch goal at the right time.
Camryn Lancaster’s impressive finish from the weekend’s 3-0 win against Challenge SC opened the floodgates, as her Solar SC side would go on to win the game in the wake of her opener.
Her Solar team is first place in the U17 Texas Conference with a record of 12-3-3, with last weekend’s matchup their final scheduled game of the regular season. Lancaster’s goal earns her the latest Girls Club Soccer Player of the Week award, presented by THINX.
There were several other worth candidates considered. Crossfire Premier U16/17 forward Kayla Adams had two goals in Crossfire’s 5-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes. She also scored twice in a crucial matchup against the California Thorns grabbing both goals in Crossfire’s 2-1 win over the Thorns. Kiera Clemens, a standout for North Carolina Courage’s U15s, scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Charlotte Soccer Academy. Abbey Handel, from Real So Cal's Under-16 squad, scored five goals in a win against SC del Sol on May 16. Kennedy Carter, part of LAFC Slammers 02s, had four goals and two assists in a victory against the So Cal Blues.
