Strikers debut, CASL climbs at U13
Strikers FC Chingirian has literally been on a roll since falling to FC Dallas-El Paso 03 Select in the Surf Cup quarterfinals at the beginning of the season. The Strikers finished the SCDSL Flight 1 South in November on top of the standings, then began 2016 with a championship run at the Vegas Cup MLK Weekend, topping No. 18 CDA Slammers Vargas in the final. Those results coupled with a Cal-South National Cup crown help Strikers land at No. 15.
In the midst of its U13 Southern Premier League season, CASL Academy Jrs took a week off to travel to Jefferson Cup, came home with a championship title, and ticks up another notch in our rankings to No. 3. CASL’s 7-2 record will be seriously tested this weekend, however, by a United Soccer Academy Mt. Pleasant 21 Premier team that remains undefeated in league play. CASL earned a 2-0 result against this team at the CASL Shootout back in November, but Sachin Patel’s USA U13s have been in good form of late, and will be a tough matchup for CASL.

FC Dallas, Vardar score big at U14
FC Dallas climbs one spot to No. 2 after beginning the spring season with three wins over Texas Conference opponents to extend its undefeated season to 13-0-1. Leading scorer and U.S. U16 Boys National Team member BRyan Reynolds added two goals during the span to increase his total on the season to 14 goals in 14 matches.
Vardar Academy also secured three wins this month, including a 5-2 defeat of No. 15 Chicago Fire Academy with four goals by Canada U15 BNT invitee Gianni Ferri, who has amassed an astounding 21 goals on the season.
Chicago Fire Academy Raiders Elite jumps four spots to No. 1, after finishing the USYS National League season undefeated in the Red Division, and with the best overall record in the league. Raiders’ forward Evangelo Spartiatis finished as the league’s top scorer with 11 goals, six more than his closest competitor. Next up for the Raiders is the Midwest Regional League, which starts April 1.
United FA 01 Premier had a much more tightly contested National League division, but came out on top thanks to a head-to-head tied breaker with No. 2 McLean 00 Green. New No. 3 UFA and McLean both earned bids to the US Youth Soccer National Championships this summer.
Next Thursday: U13, U14, and U15 Girls
Grande Sports TeamRank Top 25 is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.
The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.
Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.
A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
