Hackworth calls in 36 for Florida camp
U.S. Under-15 Boys’ National Team head coach John Hackworth will lead a 36-player domestic camp from Dec. 13-20 in Bradenton, Florida.
This is Hackworth’s first U-15 BNT camp since being named the age group’s head coach of this group in early November. All but one player among this camp roster was born in 2000 and will eventually represent the next corps of U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team head coach Richie Williams’ class.
This is the U-15 BNT’s fifth and final camp of 2014 and third domestic camp.
“It’s exciting for me and my staff to work with 36 very talented young men and spend the next week with them,” Hackworth said. “We want to try to relay some fundamental ideas about how they can progress as players. We have some clear objectives to share tactically with the group, and we want to build on what they did in their previous camp for future events.”
The week will also consist of intrasquad competition, as well as a full training session with the U-17 MNT.
“Richie and I have talked about making sure that there is continuity with how we are doing things,” Hackworth said. “With this group of 2000s, which will be the incoming class for Richie and his staff, this will make the transition smoother while also raising their level of play. It should be a good environment to push them.”
