The end of last week saw the MLS is Back tournament power through the quarterfinals.
The tournament’s shaky start is a thing of the past, with the bubble working and no new Coronavirus infections reported since the beginning of July.
There was a clear quarterfinal standout among the small group of young, domestic players to actually feature: Philadelphia Union midfielder Brenden Aaronson. Lining up against Sporting KC, Aaronson caused problems for SKC on both sides of the ball, punctuating the performance with a gorgeous through ball that setup Sergio Santos’ second, and Philly’s third, goal of the game.
