MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The semifinals of the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs took place on Thursday, with the Under-16 and Under-15 age groups whittling down to the finals.
In the battle of the Pennsylvania squads, FC Delco took advantage of an early red card to beat the Philadelphia Union 4-1. In the second matchup of the day, Real Colorado defeated St. Louis City SC by a 3-1 margin.
LA Galaxy and the Chicago Fire reached the Under-15 final. The Galaxy held on for a 2-1 win against Atlanta United, while the Fire beat FC Cincinnati 3-1.
It sets the stage for the finals on Sunday for that quartet, while the U17 and U19 semifinals take place on Friday.
