MLS Next Postseason Awards Announced
MLS Next announced the award winners for the 2021-22 season, naming an MVP, Goal of the Year and Sportsmanship Award for the four oldest age groups.
The four MLS Next MVPs were selected by the MLS Next Player Selection committee, which is made of MLS Player Development department personnel. Fans voted on the Goal of the Year in a social media vote.
Below are the awards for each age group.
U15
MVP: Ruben Ramos Jr, LA Galaxy
Goal of the Year: Sebastian Gomez – Seattle Sounders FC (WATCH)
Sportsmanship Award: PA Classics
- First Runner-Up: Rochester New York FC Youth
- Second Runner-Up: ALBION SC San Diego
U16
MVP: Roka Tsunehara, De Anza Force
Goal of the Year: Alessandro Maldonado – D.C. United (WATCH)
Sportsmanship Award: Sockers FC
- First Runner-Up: PA Classics
- Second Runner-Up: Michigan Wolves
U17
MVP: Bryan Moyado, LAFC
Goal of the Year: Juan Hurtado – Weston FC (WATCH)
Sportsmanship Award: PA Classics
- First Runner-Up: Rochester New York FC Youth
- Second Runner-Up: Phoenix Rising FC
U19
MVP: Colin Griffith, PDA
Goal of the Year: Mitch Ferguson – Portland Timbers (WATCH)
Sportsmanship Award: PA Classics
- First Runner-Up: Queen City Mutiny
- Second Runner-Up: Sporting Kansas City
