No. 2 2020 recruit commits to Pac-12 power
The rich look set to get even richer.
Stanford women's soccer program added the verbal commitment of Astrid Wheeler last week, according to the player's Twitter account.
Wheeler is the No. 2 ranked player in the 2020 Girls IMG Academy Top 150. A midfielder from Concorde Fire's U16 ECNL squad, Wheeler's squad recently finished the season with a 17-3-2 record heading into this week's ECNL Playoffs. The Georgia native has received multiple call-ups to U.S. U17 Women's National Team multiple camps in 2017, including the recent one held in San Diego at the beginning of June.
This spring she played for [Westminster Schools ga-w], contributing to the team's 20-1-1 overall record and Georgia Class AAA state title.
She's the first palyer to report her verbal commitment to join Stanford in 2020.
