PDA Showcase ends with more ECNL action

ZARAPHETH, NEW JERSEY - On Monday, more ECNL matches took place to complete the PDA Memorial Day Showcase here. Following are a couple of feature match reports.
Albertson vs. DeAnza Force in the U17 age group ended in a 2-1 victory for Albertson. Force began the game putting lots of pressure on Albertson, but they could not capitalize right away. This left opportunity open for Albertson, who was able to take advantage and Albertson's Kristi Abatte was the first to put a score on the board. Not too much later, they scored again going up by two goals. Jillian Mullholland beat everyone including the goalkeeper and put a nice shot into the net. These two goals was a turn of events and now Albertson was putting a lot of pressure on Force. But this was not the end of Force. They had a far out free kick which connected to Kat McAuliffe who beat the Albertson goalkeeper to the ball and scored what would be the final goal of the game. There were many opportunities to follow, but none of whichled to any goals. The score would remain 2-1 with Albertson coming out on top.
PDA Slammers versus West Coast FC U15 was another great battle with PDA coming out with the victory. PDA's Natasha Ntone Kouo scored the first goal of the game which cae in the first half. She hit a great low shot that beat West Coast goalkeeper. It was a back and forth battle for the most part of the game with both teams looking to play soccer. The second goal of the game began with PDA's Kouo feeding a great ball to Julianne Minutillo who scored a great goal herself. The first half ended with PDA on top two to nothing. It was not until the second half when West Coast's Jamilah Tejan got in behing PDA's defense and placed a shot impossible to PDA's goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan to stop. The game would continue with both teams attempting to put more goals on the board, however it would remain 2-1 in the end, with PDA on top.
