National team programming for players born in 2009 began earlier this year for boys and girls, with Regional ID Camps taking place over the past few months.
From the 224 players named to those teams, 36 have been called into a national ID Camp for the U.S. Women’s Youth National Team.
It’s the first step in the process for what will be the 2026 Under-17 Women’s World Cup, as the competition is a few years off. Players will also be in the age bracket for an Under-15 Concacaf Championship in 2024.
There’s a long way to go for all of these players, as most graduate in 2027. Here’s a closer look at five players to know.
