Pro Prospects: Soto surges in Hannover
If there’s one thing that Sebastian Soto’s short time in Germany has proved, it’s that he knows how to find the back of the net.
The U.S. youth international bagged two more goals over the weekend, helping to lead Hannover 96 to a 5-1 win against Hertha Berlin. Soto also picked up an assist, squaring to an open teammate for the team’s second goal.
Through five games in the U19 Bundesliga, Soto’s scored six times since making the move to the German club.
Soto wasn’t the only American in action over the weekend in the Junioren Bundesliga. On-loan defender Christopher Richards played the full 90 minutes for Bayern Munich U19s in a 1-0 win against Nurnberg.
Konrad on the scoresheet
A few days after setting up the game-winning goal in Barcelona’s UEFA Youth League match, Konrad de la Fuente got his name on the score sheet in Juvenil A’s 4-1 victory over San Francisco on Sunday.
De la Fuente could’ve had an assist in the game’s first half, crossing in to an open teammate who saw his shot saved.
Video of the goal is below.
George Acosta continues to contribute to Quinta
The path to the Boca Juniors first team through the academy is no easy one, though George Acosta is working to impress with the team’s Quinta side.
He got his name on the score sheet in a 2-0 victory against Godoy Cruz over the weekend.

Dest strikes again for Ajax
Ajax may have struggled on Sunday against PSV Eindhoven, losing 3-0 in the Eredivise.
But the U19 side from Ajax secured a modicum of revenge two days later, beating PSV's youth side by a 3-1 score.
U.S. youth international Sergino Dest got himself on the score sheet once again. The outside back, now featuring in a more advanced role for club and country, started and tallied the game's third goal.

First Fulham goal for Luca de la Torre
It's been well-documented just how difficult it is to make it from any European academy to the first team.
U.S. midfielder Luca de la Torre's a reminder of that, having spent five years at English club Fulham. He's certainly put in the work, and was rewarded with a start in Tuesday's League Cup match against Brighton. The California native made the most of his chance, scoring a goal and setting up another in the London club's 3-1 win.
A veteran of the U20 World Cup last year, de la Torre debuted for the full U.S. men's national team earlier this year against Ireland.
