When a team has a great work rate and fantastic chemistry, there is no denying that success would soon follow.
This has been the case for United Futbol Academy U17 Girls. The Georgia-based team ranks #1 in the TeamRank South Atlantic Regional Standings.
“I think these girls are a special group. I have had these girls since U10 and their chemistry is a special one,” United FA Head Coach Ignace Moleka said.
“They work hard and also have the willingness to compete day in and day out,” Moleka said. “They understand how important it is to take it one game at a time and just compete.”
The spark that exists between players like Kala Faulkner, Alexa Allen, Ally Jordan, Kelsey McQuaid, Iyana Moore, and Clare Sullivan have helped United FA perform well throughout the year throughout several competitions.
Moleka has said that the team’s biggest strength is the girls’ joy to play with another. That fact allows them to be able to take care of most on field issues during play with ease.
“We want to win a regional title and go to nationals,” he said. “But to be honest, our big thing us to get the girls to be showcased. But to be showcased we need to finish at the top, that is what really keeps us going, to showcase the girls and help them be able to commit to colleges where they want to commit.”
In the other South Atlantic age groups, GSA Phoenix Red is at the top of the U14 Girls rankings.
AFC Lightning has a slim margin and leads the U15 Girls, and CASL Spartan Elite Black does the same in the U16 and U18 Girls table.
For the boys, Concord Fire SC Elite leads the U14 U16 Boys, and Charlotte Soccer Academy Predator the U15 Boys. Charlotte United and GSA are tied for #1 in the U17 Boys standings and Alpharetta Ambush has a dominating advantage among the U18 Boys.

The strong competitive nature of the team is a big reason for its success. They display the commitment needed to succeed and do more than what is asked from them.“They work hard and also have the willingness to compete day in and day out,” Moleka said. “They understand how important it is to take it one game at a time and just compete.”

Going into 2011 the main objective for United FA is to win regionals, which they fell short from doing last year. However Moleka understands that at this age, showcasing his girls’ talent is an important factor for potential college recruiting.“We want to win a regional title and go to nationals,” he said. “But to be honest, our big thing us to get the girls to be showcased.
