Roster for the Sueno Alianza Showcase
Alianza de Futbol Hispano, the leading national amateur Hispanic soccer program, is
pleased to announce the ninth edition of its most recognized event, POWERADE® Sueño Alianza
National Showcase presented by Telemundo, where 56 young players will have the opportunity to
showcase their talent in front of more than 30 scouts from Liga MX, USL, MLS and the Mexico National
Team.
From Wednesday, October 19 to Saturday October 22, the 56 players will be in Miami training and
competing in soccer games to show their talent. Scouts from the Mexico National Team and from USL
will coach the players.
To earn their spot in the POWERADE® Sueño Alianza National Showcase, the participants were
selected from more than 9,500 online registered players during free tryouts in 12 U.S. cities during the
2016 Alianza de Futbol tour.
This is a life-changing event for the players to achieve their dreams of becoming a professional soccer
player or to earn an athletic scholarship. Over the last 8 years, more than 60 players have signed
professional contracts with Liga MX or MLS teams and over 20 players have been called up for the
national youth teams of Mexico, the United States and Honduras. Edwin Lara, who participated in the
2014 edition of POWERADE® Sueño Alianza, played for Mexico in the U-17 FIFA World Cup, and
Jonathan Gonzalez from our 2013 edition is the current captain of the U-18 United States National
Team.
In 2015, the POWERADE® Sueño Alianza National Showcase set a new record, with 33 players who
received a total of 116 invitations from the participating professional teams and federations.
These are the confirmed teams that will be represented at the POWERADE® Sueño Alianza National
