Following Thursday’s scrimmage both U17 WNT head coach B.J. Snow and U.S. Soccer Women’s Development Coach Tricia Taliaferro, who has served as the head coach of the U16/2000 age group for the past two camps, chatted with TopDrawerSoccer about some of the pressing issues from the game and the outlook for their teams.
TopDrawerSoccer: The style of play for the team shifted between the first and second 30-minute periods. Was that something planned or did you do that on the fly?
B.J. Snow: We don’t get many opportunities to be together. We haven’t been together in three months so we spent three days trying to build on what we were doing for the last six months. We have to reemphasize it because they forget it. We don’t have them for two months and then they come back. We spent three days trying to get them to remember some of things we want to do.
