A defender beyond his years, Los Angeles Galaxy’s Sagar Jambusaria is ranked on the high side of the Southern California Regional Top 20 Rankings for the 2012 Class.
“Sagar is a very honest and intelligent player. He possess great instincts defensively to go along with is technical ability,” L.A. Galaxy Head Coach Kenny Arena said. “Overall, I have been very pleased in terms of what you want from a player.”
“His courage and tactical awareness is very good. He always knows when he’s responsible for covering a defender and when he’s holding his line,” Arena said. “It’s the little things that at his age, you don’t often see guys being very well at.”
As Jambusaria continues his development with the Galaxy, Arena points out that his defender should be improving in all facets. From knowing when and how to go forward, to defending better as an outside back.
“In every area he’s slightly better than average. He has all the right starting points, and he’s a pleasure to work with,” Arena said.
Other players at the top of their classes are Martin Arrieta, Paul Arriola, and Jack McBean for the 2013 Boys. Corey Baird and John Requejo are one-two for the 2014 Boys. Adonis Amaya and Billy Abdallah lead the 2015 Boys.
Kodie Lavrusky and Kaitlyn Johnson wrap up the top five for the 2012 Girls, while Jordan Jesolva and Kayla Mills do the same in the 2013 Girls. Hannah Archeta and Hannah Lopiccolo sit second and third for the 2014 Girls.

A former U.S. Soccer Residency player, Jambusaria showed interest in playing for the Galaxy after his semester in Bradenton, Florida with the U17 MNT was over. Arena brought him in on trial, and eventually offered him a spot on the team.“His courage and tactical awareness is very good.
