Regardless of the outcome, the U.S. trip to Italy for the first International Women’s Tournament of Gradisca was always going to be a memorable experience.
The second game of the tournament featured a bit of history, as it marked the first matchup between any team from the Middle East and a U.S. women’s team when the U.S. U16 GNT played Iran.
In all, the U.S. U16s finished fourth place, tying Mexico 1-1 before losing on penalty kicks last week.
TopDrawerSoccer.com caught up with a scout at the event to highlight some of the top performances from U.S.-based players.
