Here are the girls best XI and other standouts from the event.

TDS Combine: Atlanta Girls Best XI

GK, Meaghan Haley, Boston Breakers, 2018 – Haley has all the physical attributes to be a successful D1 goalkeeper. Confident and commanding, she made some great saves during the full field games.

DF, Morgan Haase, Southern Soccer Academy, 2016 – Haase brings a very physical presence to the backline. She reads the game well and has great awareness on and off the ball. She was strong in the air on the day and found some good passes out of the back.

DF, Joselle Morche, Atlanta Fire, 2018 – Morche is a leader on the field, communicates with the backline well and makes good decisions defensively. She has good technical ability and looks comfortable in possession. She rarely had to use strength or speed to win the ball, she read the game well and stepped to intercept through balls.

DF, Megan Smith, Club, Dacula Soccer Club, 2016 – Just like Haase another one of our Best XI players, Smith has great athletic attributes that contribute to her being a rock defensively. Strong, quick, agile, and competitive she is everything you want from a defender. When winning possession she kept things simple out of the back.

MF, Kurston Von Klahr, Carolina Rapids, 2018 – Von Klahr is an IMG Academy Top 150 ranked player (#128) and she did not disappoint at the combine. Von Klahr does well in tight spaces, with an impeccable touch she can dribble out of the midfield or find a pass to feet. She is a midfielder who likes to keep things simple, kept possession and never over complicated the game.

MF, Payton Bisso, Hoover SC, 2016 – Bisso is a very technical midfielder, who combines well with players around her. She moved well to create space and worked hard defensively.

MF, Morgan Evertt, North Carolina Fusion, 2017 – Everett is a tall imposing center mid, who likes to sit in front of the back four. She is strong in the air, winning a lot of balls on the day, and comfortable in possession. She provided good coverage for her backline, picked up the pieces and sprayed simple passes from central areas.

MF, Ava VanMarter, Storm Soccer Academy, 2019 – Van Marter was one of the youngest girls in attendance and showed all participants that age is just a number. Controlling the tempo of the game she ran at players from the midfield creating an abundance of chances. She also has a fantastic passing range and vision for her age. Her performance on the day left coaches nicknaming her “Twinkle Toes”.

FW, Brittany Montgomery, GSA, 2017 – Another regionally ranked player at TDS (#37), Montgomery had a fantastic day up top. She finished and created a number of opportunities and showed her ability to hold up play, run in behind defenders and link up with the midfield. Deceptively fast, and tricky in possession, Montgomery has a bright future ahead.

FW, Dominique Moxie, GSA, 2017 – Moxie is a dynamic forward. Always on the move, good on the ball, she read the game well and kept possession when needed. The biggest attribute Moxie has is her decision making, she never wasted the ball in possession.

FW, Emmalee McCarter, South Carolina United, 2018 – McCarter is a forward by trade but her versatility, spending some of the game as a center mid. A strong and powerful athlete McCarter played some impressive passes when sitting just behind the forwards, one in particular cross field ball to spread the play during full field games left the coaches in awe.

Honorable Mention

Sarah McHale, Lake Norman, FW, 2018

Caitlyn Peterson, NASA, FW, 2017

Sarah Wampler, Carolina Rapids, MF, 2018
